French President Emmanuel Macron said today that he “has not changed his phone number” and that his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin can call him if he has “serious proposals” for peace in Ukraine.

“If President Putin has a desire for dialogue and serious proposals for moving forward, ending the conflict and building lasting peace, i.e. with respect for international law, and therefore Ukrainian interests and sovereignty, I will accept the invitation,” Macron said in Brussels at a conference for journalists after the European summit.

Macron added that France will always be “a power that will help and that will not spare its efforts to get a result.”

On Thursday, Putin confirmed that he was always ready for a dialogue with his French counterpart, but that Macron is the one who does not see the point of the conversation and that is why he stopped all exchanges, Beta writes.
