Citizens of BiH are the seventh group of citizens in the EU who were born outside this community, as announced by Eurostat.

The statistical agency of the EU investigated the origins and habits of their citizens, and one of the questions that they defined in a large survey referred to the place of birth of citizens of the EU.

They established that there are 950,000 people in the EU who were born in BiH.

In the first place of the list is Morocco, with a total of 2.3 million people. It is followed by Turkey with 2.08 million, Russia with 1.8 million, Algeria with 1.5 million, Ukraine with 1.1 million, and India with 1.06 million people born in their homeland.

Albania is right behind BiH with 900,000 people.

An interesting fact is that China, for example, is “represented” in the EU by 820,000 people, and that the number of born Americans in the EU amounts to 580,000.

If we take into the consideration the total number of citizens of BiH, our country is at the very top when it comes to the number of its citizens in the diaspora.
