The Head Office of the Council of Europe in B&H, Mary Ann Hennessey visited this morning parents of Bosniak children from Konjević- Polje, who have spent two nights in front oh OHR in Sarajevo. This was her unofficial visit to express her support to them.
Parents and children from Konjević- Polje are in front of the OHR building in Sarajevo since Wednesday. They require from the international community to finalize the decision as to whether Bosniak children are entitled to a national group of school subjects.
Parents have spent two nights in tents and they announce that they will not give up until their problems are solved.
The children from Konjević–Polje have not been attending classes since 2 September because the Ministry of Education of RS did not fulfill the parents’ requirements to enable children to study national school subjects, as well as to adequately address the issue of ethnic composition of the school board.
