For the second year in a row, the federal state of Maryland has officially declared March 1 as the Day of the Bosnian-American Community in Maryland. The proclamation was formally presented last night, March 3, at a reception held at the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Washington, D.C., on the occasion of the Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The proclamation, signed by the Governor of Maryland Wes Moore, on behalf of the State of Maryland to the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United States of America, Sven Alkalaj, was handed over by the Deputy Secretary of State of the State of Maryland, Michael Lore, during the official reception.

The event was attended by representatives of the Maryland-Bosnia and Herzegovina Exchange Council, members of the diplomatic corps, officials of key institutions of the United States of America, including the White House and the State Department, as well as representatives of Washington, D.C. and the states of Maryland.
