The Mayors of Sarajevo, Tuzla, and Gorazde, Benjamina Karic, Jasmin Imamovic, and Ernest Imamovic discussed the improvement of mutual cooperation, and agreed on concrete joint projects that will be implemented in the upcoming period.

During the return visit to the Mayor of Gorazde, Ernest Imamovic, the Mayors of Sarajevo and Tuzla, Benjamina Karic and Jasmin Imamovic, expressed their readiness to implement projects in various areas that will improve mutual cooperation between these three cities. One of the first joint projects will be the publication of the fourth edition of the Bosnian-Turkish Dictionary from 1631, the oldest South Slavic dictionary of the Shtokavian dialect in Europe, whose author was from Tuzla, Muhamed Hevaji Uskufi.

“This year the 390th anniversary of the oldest South Slavic dictionary of the Shtokavian dialect in Europe is marked. A group of professors has published the first edition around 1990, while the city of Tuzla has published three so far and I want this story to spread and the fourth edition to be published together, (the City of Sarajevo Gorazde, the City of Sarajevo, and the City of Tuzla), and most probably Preporod of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) will be with us to make a big promotion. You know that they deny us both BiH and the Bosnian language, and it is the oldest of the Shtokavian dialect in Europe,” notedTuzla Mayor, Jasmin Imamovic.

According to him, the city of Tuzla is ready to offer complete knowledge and experiences when it comes to establishing a technology park in Gorazde.

“Tuzla has the best technology park in BiH, it is a Norwegian-Tuzla story, very successful, which started in 2006, and we would like to provide experiences and knowledge related to this project to the Mayor and the citizens of Gorazde. It is important that it can be exported, and that there are young people here who are talented in information and communication technologies. So, you are here in Gorazde, and you work for different companies around the world. Companies that are at the Tuzla Technology Park export their knowledge, their intelligence in the amount of 95 percent, while they work for the BiH market less than five percent, ” Imamovic explained.

Benjamina Karic, the Mayor of Sarajevo, emphasized that her first ideas after her appointment half a year ago were to establish stronger and tighter ties with BiH cities, including Gorazde.

“Along with the joint publication of the Bosnian-Turkish dictionary in which the three of us mayors will write a quality preface, which is actually a gift from the City of Sarajevo to the children of Gorazde is that they attend swimming school at the Olympic Pool in Sarajevo, so I hope the kids will enjoy and meet their friends from Sarajevo. I hope that each of our visits in the future will yield something beautiful and that the citizens of Sarajevo and the city of heroes, Gorazde, will feel the benefit, ” Karic pointed out.

According to the Mayor of Gorazde, Ernest Imamovic, all mentioned projects are significant for the citizens of Gorazde, in this case, especially for children and youth. He added that they want to unite the experiences of Tuzla, Sarajevo, and Gorazde and show that the synergy of the three mayors can be positively manifested in the City of Gorazde, Klix.ba writes.
