endi megafi‘’We expect that the Parliament of BiH to adopt the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Personal Identification Number ( JMBG), in furtherance of the decision of the Constitutional Court of the 2011’’,  stated for Fena spokesman for the European Union Delegation to BiH / Office of the Special Representative Andy McGuffie.

‘’To issue the identification numbers of the infants and citizens across the centralized system in the country is a fundamental human right that must be guaranteed’’, said McGuffie.

The non adoption of the law on identification numbers was an occasion for civic protests, after which the Council of Ministers approved a proposed amendment to the Act, under which the registration is adapted in accordance to the territorial organization of BiH.

These amendments were adopted by the House of Representatives, but not by the House of People, where the Bosniak Club declared the violation of the vital national interest.
