President of Turkey Abdullah Gül and member of the Presidency of BiH Bakir Izetbegović talked today in Ankara about the possibilities of organizing the trilateral meeting between Turkey, BiH and Serbia.

The meeting was supposed to be held earlier, but Izetbegović cancelled it because of the inflammatory rhetoric of Serbian President Tomislav Nikolić.

Gül and Izetbegović talked about relations between two countries, political situation in BiH and region and they’ve expressed satisfaction with the cooperation of Turkey and BiH and they stated that economic relations must be improved.

Izetbegović thanked the Government of Turkey for their help and he informed Gül about the implementation of projects of return of minorities in BiH financed by Turkish loans.

Reiterating Turkey’s corroboration for Bosnia and Herzegovina, President Gül underscored the importance of the establishment of the political stability and the acceleration of the reform process in this country. He pointed to the significance that the vision of BiH toward NATO and the EU should be consolidated, which he said will give momentum to its integration with the European-Atlantic organizations. Turkey, he stressed, also attaches great importance to the continuation of the Turkey-Serbia-Bosnia and Herzegovina Trilateral Summit Process.
