Member of the B&H Presidency Bakir Izetbegović received the Ambassador of France to B&H Roland Gilles yesterday. They spoke of the situation in Syria and in the Middle East, the overall relations between the two countries, the current political situation in B&H and in the region, as well as joint preparations for the celebration of the 100 years since the beginning of the First World War, which will take place in 2014.
They agreed that Bashar Al-Assad’s regime cannot go unpunished for its use of chemical weapons and that the world has to respond with military action against his forces.
They concluded that the relations between the two countries are at a very high level, and they devoted particular attention to the development of significant economic exchanges.
They agreed to work together in the near future on many concrete projects that could be of use to the business communities in both countries.
With this in mind, Gilles announced the upcoming arrival of the French Special Representative for Economic Diplomacy for the Balkans Alain Richard, the former Minister of Defense of France.
They spoke of the possibility of fulfilling the commitments of B&H on its Euro Atlantic path. Gilles took the opportunity to say that the Republic of France strongly supports the Euro Atlantic perspective of our country and expressed hope that B&H would very soon find the answers for already familiar questions.
