Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željka Cvijanović congratulated General Gojko Knežević on his appointment as Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stressing that he is a man with rich experience and that she is sure that he will meet all the challenges of the job.
Cvijanović pointed out that the General Corps of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina was appointed at a marathon session of the BiH Presidency that lasted almost five hours.
“I congratulate General Knežeić and his colleagues Nebojša Bošnjak, Radovan Jović and Milorad Krajšumović,” said Cvijanović at a press conference in East Sarajevo.
She pointed out that the general corps should have been appointed a long time ago and that it has been delayed for more than a year and a half.
Tthe BiH Presidency appointed General Gojko Knežević as the Chief of the Joint Staff of the BiH Armed Forces on Monday.
General Knežević will replace Senad Mašović in that position, whose mandate expired at the beginning of March last year.
Knežević was born on August 20, 1962 in Kozarska Dubica.
Prior to the position to which he was appointed today, he was the Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff for Resources.
He graduated from the Military High School in 1982, the Military Academy in 1989, and the Command Staff School in Belgrade in 1999.
He continued his education in 2004 when he graduated from the School of National Defense in Belgrade, while in 2012 he graduated from the High School of Security and Defense, also in the capital of Serbia.
He knows the English language, and has completed many courses and seminars in the field of defense and political-military fields.
