Boris Jerinić, the deputy Defense Minister, confirmed that there will be an analysis of the regulations regarding the participation of the members of the Armed Forces of BiH in specific activities, but that there might not be an investigation against the members of the Third Infantry (RS) regiment of the Armed Forces of BiH, who were present in several activities during the celebration of the Day of Republika Srpska on 8th and 9th January this year.
“The analysis will show if there is a need for a law or part of the law to be changed or not”, added Jerinić, emphasizing that his colleague Sead Jusić, done his job in accordance with the law and he does not see any valid reason why he should resign.
In order for the Armed Forces and the Joint Staff not to be brought in the similar situation, a special analysis will be made. The analysis will show was there any failures in the regulations.
“Resignation of Mr. Jusić is a political question and politics will decide on it. On the other side if we will stick to the principle and make someone resign only because he does not correspond to a particular politics, and not because he violated the law, then that is not good for BiH”, said Jerinić at the press conference in Banja Luka, adding that no part of the Law, Constitution or Rules is violated and that the members of the Armed Forces are not to blame for anything.
“If there is some guilt, then it exists in some policies and politics. The time will show what those politics were and who was right and who was not,” said Deputy Minister of Defense.
Moreover, Deputy Minister says that Minister of Defense Marina Pendes, gave an explanation why the media got two similar announcements yesterday.
Pointing out that there is a lot of politics in relation to this issue, Mr. Jerinić added that he is certain that the Ministry of Defence has done everything in accordance with the law.
“We will work to improve certain policies, regulations and laws in order to avoid the situation where we have a great political pressure, which is not good for the Ministry of Defense. Moreover, I would like to add that the reform in this area has produced results and it should continue in future as well,” Jerinić said in a statement to reporters.
In the end, he pointed out that it would be good for the diversities that exist in BiH to be respected and appreciated.
