interreligious council“Confession, condemnation and the memory of the innocent victims is the only way to ensure a stable and secure future for generations to come,” said the Minister for Human Rights and Refugees Semiha Borovac after she visited places of suffering of Bosniaks, Serbs, Croats, and Jews together with members of the Interreligious Council in BiH.

She noted that the joint tour of the places of suffering from religious leaders, as well as all those present, have shown “how we should treat the victims, as well as each other” in the best way possible, by the personal example.

“At the same time, this was certain kind of the history class that reminded us on the absurdity of conflict, as well as the warning in order for this evil not to happen ever again. I believe that it is time for political leaders to start visiting places of suffering together,” said Minister Borovac.

She visited places of the suffering of Bosniaks, Serbs, Croats and Jews together with members of the Interreligious Council in BiH. They visited Kazani, Krizancevo Selo, Kruscica and Koricanske stijene. The Interreligious Council organized this visit with the aim to draw attention to the need of respect for all victims, regardless of their religion or ethnic origin.

The visit was finished with the meeting of leaders of the Interreligious Council and Minister Borovac and her associates, where they discussed the possibilities of further cooperation in the field of joint action in order to achieve a higher level of understanding and returning trust among peoples in BiH, which is the basis for a secure and stable future of our country.
