This morning, the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zeljko Komsic, talked with the Ukrainian charge d’affaires, who informed him that Russia’s attack on Ukraine had begun.
Komsic said on social media that he talked to the Ukrainian charge d’affaires at 6 am, who officially informed him that the attack on Ukraine had begun and that Ukraine was seeking support from BiH in the future.
“The state of Bosnia and Herzegovina has joined the statement of the EU member states on the situation in Ukraine. In accordance with our capabilities, we will continue to provide support to Ukraine,” Komsic said.
Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Sefik Dzaferovic also strongly condemned the invasion of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
“I strongly condemn the unprovoked invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, joining the reactions of the civilized world to this dark and disturbing day. I am with thoughts and prayers with people in cities across Ukraine who are under brutal attacks by Russian military forces,” Dzaferovic said.
After Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that they had launched a special military operation in Donbas in eastern Ukraine, explosions began echoing in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, and elsewhere.
Explosions, in addition to Kiev, reverberate in Kharkov, Kramatorsk, Mariupol, Mykolaiv and Odessa.
