Memorial Forest with 8.372 Trees to be Built

gorazdeIn a special way, city of Gorazde will show honor to the victims of genocide in Srebrenica. On the occasion of 20th anniversary of the genocide at the site Posestra, the Memorial Forest complex with 8,372 trees will be built.

The goal of the project is a permanent marking memory to the victims of the Srebrenica genocide. Additionally, it was emphasized that all lessons from this tragic event should be taken, and that the events should not be forgotten.

The complex will include portal, paths and trees planted on an area of 4.3 hectares.

The beginning of the construction is planned to start officially on March 19th at 10:15 o’clock, and thereby several trees will be planted.

The project was initiated by the Muftijstvo Gorazde, and was supported by the Government of Bosnia-Podrinje Canton and the Municipality. The project has developed by a Public Enterprise Bosnia-Podrinje Forests Gorazde.
