Mothers of Srebrenica in Knin oslobodjenje.ba“The decision that those who deny established facts of the genocide by court verdicts are not welcome at the commemoration that will be held on the 11th of July, is not a decision of Camil Durakovic, but it is our decision, which was made at our request at the meeting of the Organizing Committee,” as emphasized in an open letter from the association “Movement of Mothers of Srebrenica and Zepa Enclaves”.

Moreover, they noted that the Memorial Centre is a sacred place for the Mothers of Srebrenica, and the 11th of July is a holy day, when they will bury their sons, fathers and husbands, and they expect at least respect of their right to mark that day in the company of those who are not afraid of the truth.

“We want to say to the Serbian politicians that this is not a political decision. This is not a decision of Camil Durakovic or Bakir Izetbegovic, but strictly ours,” they said in the statement.

Mothers of Srebrenica and Zepa state that the 11th of July is the hardest day, the day when they will remember the times when they saw their children and their beloved ones for the last time.

“If you do not have the courage to admit that genocide was committed in Srebrenica, at least keep quiet and do not insult us who will say the last goodbye after 21 years to those who are direct victims of Milosevic and Karadzic’s policy of chauvinism and hypocrisy,” as stated in the open letter of the mothers of Srebrenica.
