Quality of Air in FB&H significantly improved

sarajevoQuality of air in the cities of FB&H was significantly improved yesterday, while no significantly higher concentrations of pollutants  were measured today at any measuring point.

Quality of air has improved from north to south, so the air was “cleaned” in Lukavac and Tuzla first – cities that previously had been in the most disadvantaged position regarding this.

The measuring station in Ilidza – Sarajevo showed very high value of concentrations of particulate matters until evening hours.

A cold north wind that yesterday arrived in our region was not significantly felt in the valleys, but it established a state in which temperature decrease, which interrupted the state of the temperature inversion that was present last month. This way, movement of air from the bottom of the basin level took place, which ultimately resulted in improvement of the air quality.

“We are expecting similar conditions to be maintained during the holidays, we are not expecting a significant increase in the concentration of pollutants within the next three days,” as announced from the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute of B&H.
