Miners from all over BiH protested in Sarajevo

About 500 miners from all seven mines of the concern peacefully protested today in front of the building of Elektroprivreda Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo. In miner’s suits, as they say, they once again expressed their dissatisfaction with the attitude of the rulers towards the Zenica Chambers in a peaceful and dignified manner. The protest ended shortly after 1 p.m.

After the Steering Committee of the Union of Independent Unions of Mine Workers of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina made a decision to organize a protest, the miners left Zenica at 9 o’clock this morning for their destination.

“We are not asking for anyone to speak to us. We are coming to express our huge dissatisfaction with everything that is happening. We want to say that we are united,” said the president of the Trade Union Sinan Husić and stated that “the state must stop living with the 830 workers of RMU Zenica “.

He said that the miners of Zenica must receive their salary for June, as they received for the month of May according to the Agreement signed on July 3, after last month’s suspension of production in that mine.

Husić also said that it is necessary to ensure the conditions for the retirement of those miners who have acquired the conditions for it during 2023.

Last week, the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina sent an order to Elektroprivreda BiH to urgently pay the arrears and to proceed with the implementation of the Agreement.

The EPBiH pointed out that this would mean a violation of the Law on Business Companies and the Law on Public Enterprises of FBiH.
