The miners of the “Raspotočje” mine of the Zenica Brown Coal Mines Subsidiary Company, who went on strike on September 25 in the second shift, have not yet resumed production, confirmed the president of the “Raspotočje” Plant Union, Nedžad Duraković.

He notes that the director of the Zenica mine, Mensur Hukić, made a decision on the temporary suspension of work, which came into effect on October 3, and will remain in effect until conditions are met for the continuation of work.

“Nothing has changed, i.e. only the inspection is doing mandatory work in case of suspension of work. The situation has been the same for about 20 days, and we are waiting for the outcome of the Assembly of the Public Company Elektroprivreda Bosnia and Herzegovina, our governing society, which should make a decision on approving the money for the payment of our August salaries and compensation for a hot meal. The assembly should be held next week, and the deadline for the payment of the September salary will also begin soon,” said Duraković Feni, and noted that the salary in that company was paid around the 15th, and according to the collective agreement, no later than the 25th of the month for the previous month.

About 10 days ago, the new systematization of workplaces in the Zenica mine was completed, which, Duraković adds, should in the first phase reduce the number of employees from the current 805 to 711, and in the second and third phases to 580. The systematization received the support of the Trade Union, but the decision of JPEPBiH is expected. Surplus workers will either be retired or they will be paid incentive severance pay, Fena reports.
