Ministry of the Interior is establishing a new video surveillance system in Sarajevo

The Government of the Sarajevo Canton has approved the project of building a new video surveillance system in the Sarajevo Canton, in order to improve security and more efficient implementation of activities within the competence of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Canton of Sarajevo.

The appointed working group, which includes experts from the CS Ministry of the Interior, as well as external experts in the field of telecommunications and security, will determine the locations to be covered by video surveillance, the necessary infrastructure and devices, as well as signal transmission to surveillance centers and surveillance equipment centers, including software for video surveillance and network surveillance, planned future system upgrades and other necessary tasks, said the Protocol and Press Service of Sarajevo Canton.

“The obligation of the working group is to do it as soon as possible, and in 90 days at the latest, as well as to prepare an estimate of the total costs.” The project and technical specification that will propose will be the basis for announcing the public procurement and realization of the project “, announced the Minister of the Interior Admir Katica on this occasion.

He pointed out that this is an excellent tool for better control and prevention, as well as the identification of various forms of crime.

Katica also reminded that the establishment of a new video surveillance system is envisaged by the Action Plan for the Prevention and Suppression of Theft of Motor Vehicles in the Sarajevo Canton.
