At the proposal of the Ministry of Justice of the FBiH, the Government of FBiH gave the approval for the construction of the pavilion IX for enlargement of prison capacity to the Closed-Type Correctional Institution Zenica.
Consent is required for the issuance of building permits, and in accordance to the terms of the decision on urban permit of the Ministry of Planning, Transport and Communications and Environmental Protection of the Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDC) from the 9th of August 2016.
The Closed-Type Correctional Institution Zenica is in charge to deliver a special report to the Government of FBiH after completion of the works.
In the explanation of this decision was stated that they are undertaking activities on the implementation of the IPA 2015 Project for Prisons, for which the delegation of the European Union (EU) in BiH provided 1.5 million EUR for the construction of a modern prison facility within the Closed-Type Correctional Institution Zenica.
