Moore: the positive Things happened after the General Elections in October

moore johnatanThe Head of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina Jonathan Moore said that the positive things happened after the general elections in October, such as the adoption of the Written Commitment of BiH after the British-German initiative.

Mr. Moore thinks that positive steps and processes in BiH will continue especially when it comes to the implementation of earlier adopted obligations from the Commitment in order to achieve economic and social progress in the country.

“The level of consensus and joint work is good which is why we hope that it will continue,” Moore said.

In a statement to reporters, he referred to the fact that the present members of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska voted on the declaration concerning a request for review of the Law on Holidays of RS to the BiH Constitutional Court, saying that the decisions of the Court must be respected.

“The major problem is that these decisions are often not respected such as the decision of the Court in Mostar or the decision on public broadcasters. If BiH want to become a member of the European Union it will have to respect all these decisions,” Moore stated.

Moore said that the six-month presidency of BiH over the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe which begins in May is a great progress for BiH.

Mr. Moore announced that several joint projects will be implemented in regard to leaving foreign battlefields and other regional priorities such as flood recovery.
