Philippe Lazzarini, head of the United Nations – UN agency for Palestine refugees (UNRWA), warned that the war in Gaza is actually a war waged against children, which he argued with newly published statistics that are truly devastating.
Lazzarini says the number of children killed in Gaza in the past four months is alarming.
“This war is a war against children. It is a war for their childhood and their future. Now a ceasefire for the children of Gaza,” Lazzarini wrote in a post on the X social network.
In addition, he published a graph that presented data from the UN and Hamas Ministry of Health in Gaza showing that more than 12,300 children were killed in Gaza between October 2023 and February 2024. That compared to the 12,193 children killed in four years is truly horrifying.
To recall, children in hospitals in Gaza are dying of dehydration and malnutrition. On March 2nd, the United States (U.S.) delivered the first humanitarian aid to Gaza since the beginning of the war, which meant airdropping 38,000 meals. However, humanitarian organizations claim that this is ineffective aid, Klix.ba reports.
