Certain countries make arrivals from China conditional on a negative test for the coronavirus, and the last country to do so was the United Kingdom (UK). The authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) have not yet commented on this issue.
In the most populous country in the world, until recently, the policy of “zero infected with the coronavirus” was applied, which was achieved by very restrictive epidemiological measures. Due to the great dissatisfaction of the citizens, expressed through protests, the mentioned policy stopped being applied, which resulted in a sudden increase in the number of infected people. They expected that in China, as in the rest of the world.
Fearing that the worsening epidemiological situation mightspread, the countries that previously decided to make arrival from China conditional on a negative test for the coronavirus are Israel, the United States (U.S.) South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan, India, Italy, Spain, and last night, this decision was also made by the UK. Making such a decision is being considered by Australia and the Philippines.
World media previously reported that there is a possibility of the emergence of new strains of coronavirus due to the sudden increase in the number of infected people in China. However, some American experts believe that there is little risk of the emergence of new strains.
The authorities in BiH have so far not commented on how much risk is in BiH due to the increase in the number of infected people in China. So there was not even a word about whether it would be considered to do what the mentioned countries did – to make the arrival from China conditional on a negative test for the coronavirus.
From 2020, when the pandemic began, BiH has been among the few countries in the world that did not condition entry from other countries with a negative test or in any other way, even when the pandemic was at its peak.
Although the pandemic has subsided, the World Health Organization (WHO) has not yet declared the end of the pandemic. WHO Director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in September that the end of the pandemic is near, but given the development of the situation in China, it is possible that the end will be prolonged, Klix.ba reports.
