More than 700,000 BAM allocated for Repair of Riverbed of Miljacka River

miljackaMinister of Physical Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of CS Cedomir Lukic and Mayor of the Municipality Novo Sarajevo Nedzad Koldzo on Monday signed the Agreement on the repair of river bed of Miljacka River for the purpose of construction and reconstruction of the sewerage network.

Mentioned works are referring to the acceptance and discharge of waste and storm water in the settlements Kovacici and Velesici. This way, the flow of waste water into the river Miljacka will be reduced and the problem of accepting large amounts of rainwater will be solved, which prevented the normal functioning of the sewage system in the period of high rainfall.

Later on, Lukic and Koldzo signed the Agreement on cofinancing of the construction of facilities for recreation Hum-okolis (Hum-environment). This Agreement provided works on the construction and reconstruction of the sewage system in the settlement Velesici. By above mentioned works, part of storm water and wastewater from the area of Hum will be directed to new collectors in the area of Streliste, which includes parts of Isaka Samokovlije Street, Rudera Boskovica Street and settlement Velesici.

In his address, Koldzo emphasized that with the implementation of the above mentioned works, a high-quality separate sewerage networks in parts of the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo will be constructed.

“The estimated value of the implementation of these two projects is more than a million BAM. With the help of the Ministry of Physical Planning, Construction and Environmental Protection of CS we were able to allocate 700,000 BAM, while the rest of the funds will be financed from the budget of the municipality of Novo Sarajevo,” said Koldzo.
