wtoAt the meeting of the co-chairs of the International Commission of BiH and Russia for trade and economic cooperation, representatives of BiH asked the Russian party to revise its attitude which disputes the accession of BiH to the World Trade Organization.

Vice-President of the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH Nemanja Vasić, who participated in the meeting, said that the topic about accession to the WTO is imposed, because Russia is one of the three countries that dispute the accession of BiH to this organization.

Vasić stated that this was the reason why the representatives of BiH asked the Russian party to revise its attitude, in order to agree on the accession of BiH to this organization, stated the Foreign Trade Chamber of BiH.

During the meeting, the two parties agreed that there is unused potential for cooperation in many areas, especially in agricultural industry, wood industry, tourism, as well as in modernization of railway infrastructure.

After the imposing of economic sanction by the EU and USA in Russia, Russia banned the import of certain products from these countries to its territory, and BiH should use this better.

Information about bilateral relations and the process of finalization of certain bilateral agreements was exchanged, for the purpose of more efficient creation of a legal framework for better business cooperation of businessmen from the two countries.

Also pointed out was the possibility of intensifying cooperation in terms of investing in new projects and the improvement of the existing investments. It was also talked about double taxation, social insurance of workers, and the debt for gas.

During the meeting, the parties also talked about the arrival of the Russian commission to BiH and the visit to facilities of BiH for the export to Russia, and about the changing of regulations so that better fuels could be imported to BiH.
