How much will the BiH Economy grow in 2017?

economic-growthAccording to prognoses by international monetary institutions, the BiH economy should achieve the growth of more than three percent in 2017.

That should be an acceleration in comparison with 2016 when the growth of 2.6 percent was achieved.

IMF foresees that the deficit of the current account of BiH in 2017 will amount to -6 percent, and in 2018 to -5 percent. Consumer prices in BiH will increase by 0.7 percent in 2017.

The World Bank foresees the economic growth of 3.1 percent in BiH this year and 3.5 percent next year.

Activities that might support the economic growth are the intensification of works on the Corridor 5C, if the decision on the increase in excise taxes on petroleum and petroleum products is adopted. New construction sites might be opened on the highway Stolac-Neum, as well as at the localities of bridges towards Croatia in Svilaj and Gradiška.

Further investments in real estate, especially in the Sarajevo environs, are expected as a result of the growth in the sector of tourism.

Possible continuation of the arrangement with the IMF would also influence the growth because hundreds of millions of BiH would enter the country as support for fiscal stability.
