Recently, more and more municipalities and cities in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina have been increasing the amount of one-time financial assistance to mothers giving birth, and the latest in the series is the municipality of Prozor/Rama, whose Municipal Council on Tuesday decided that the amount of one-time financial assistance amounts to 1,000 marks for the first newborn child.

According to the adopted Decision on determining the rights and awarding one-time cash assistance for a newborn child in 2024, this assistance is increased for each newborn child, so the amount of one-time cash assistance for the second newborn child is 1,500 BAM, the third and each subsequent child is 2,000 BAM, and for the tenth newborn child 10,000 BAM.

We remind you that the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Policy planned, and the FBiH Government determined 16 million marks in the Ministry’s budget for the implementation of birth control measures in 2024.

Minister of Labor and Social Policy Adnan Delić said that this is a one-time support for mothers giving birth, which includes 1,000 BAM for each newborn child in the Federation of BiH.

It will also be the first time that support for mothers in labor is planned from the level of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition, through the regular current transfer to lower levels of government, i.e. cantons, from the budget of the FBiH Government, a condition is foreseen for all cantons to direct part of that transfer to the implementation and support of birth policies, i.e. policies aimed at strengthening the family.
