jasmin_meskovicAfter the official opening of the Museum “Memorial Room-Banja Luka” in Brčko, which will be held on 8 May, the Union of the prisoners in Bosnia-Herzegovina will  also start the activities for the opening of the Museum of Prisoners’ suffering in B&H, said for FENA Agency the president of the Union of prisoners in B&H Jasmin Mešković.

The preparations for the realization of the museum project will start in June. “We possess a great amount of photographs and documentation which will not be situated in the first museum dedicated to all prisoners in Luka in Brčko”, said Mešković. Currently, there are two options for the museum exhibition.

“That was the former camp Bunker near Sonja, in Vogošća and the other is in the center of Sarajevo”, said Mešković. During the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina, from 1192 till 1995, there were 657 camps through which more than hundred thousands prisoners went through. More than 30 000 detainees were killed in camps, and around 25 000 women were raped.
