According to the calendar of the Islamic community, the Eid al-Adha will be marked on the 9th of July this year.

Eid al-Adha lasts for four days, and according to the Islamic Community in BiH, these are “blessed days, the days of the great mercy of God, and their importance is showed by kurban ( sacrifice)”.

“This Eid represents a tradition of the Prophet Ibrahim, and it is marked by sharing Kurban meat to the poor, friends, neighbors, and by the days of Hajj – the days when millions of Muslims go on pilgrimage to visit Mecca and Medina. They will depart to Mecca,” as announced from the Islamic Community.

Hajj in Islam is intention and journey (pilgrimage) to Mecca with the aim of performing certain rituals visiting the Kaaba, the largest Islamic sanctuary. This is the “fifth pillar of Islam”.

Hajj is obligation for every Muslim as soon as the person has material conditions for it.

“Haji (pilgrim) is the guest of Allah, which gives him a chance to be forgiven for all sins, and millions of Muslims gather each year on the ground where Muhamed, p.b.u.h. walked,” as stated from the Islamic Community.
