The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mladen Ivanić said that B&H has had a negative image for too long, so it is no wonder the today’s negative report on the progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted by the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs, emphasizing that the negative image of the country began to change.
“I believe, if we continue at this pace, we will change the negative image of B&H, not quickly, but by the end of the year the first results will be shown,” told Ivanić to the reporters in Mostar.
He noted that it will take time to change the negative image of B&H, but that the change is initiated, adding that with the adoption of the declaration of commitment of B&H to the European road a small step forward has been made.
“Essentially will be when these reforms are to be. That’s what the Chairman of the Council of Ministers and the Entity Prime Ministers are talking about. I think that business will soon begin”, said Ivanić.
He stated that on Monday, April 20th, the meeting with the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Federico Mogherini and EU Foreign Ministers is scheduled. On the meeting, the stronger economic support for Bosnia and Herzegovina will be asked for.
The Committee on Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament called on the political elite in B&H to show unequivocal support for the continuation of reforms and to engage in that process in order to approach the EU.
