PrijedorDiscussions are currently underway at the Agency for Economic Development of Prijedor (PREDA-PD) with several potential investors from the country and abroad that are interested in the local industrial zones.

The company “Das-Prom” from Banja Luka, which produces thermal insulation, polished and sandblasted glass, is interested in buying land for the construction of a new facility that would employ 45 people.

Currently there are talks for an adjustment on the draft contract of the sale of the land in the industrial zone “Celpak”.

The Slovenian-German Consortium “AG”, which produces energy from renewable resources, should proceed with the project with the Prijedor-based “Toplana”, where the continuation of cooperation and realization of activities is expected.

The Banja Luka Company “Heva”, which deals with real estate and investment, bought six hectares of land in the industrial zone “Čirkin polje“. The goal is to attract investors from Germany. “Heva” is continuing with the agreed upon activities after a short delay in negotiations for the sake of consolidating relations with investors from Germany.

A group of investors from China are interested in the production and assembly of electronic devices and equipment, and they are expected to come to a mutual agreement on intentions and relations, and afterwards to continue negotiations on the possibilities of opening the first facility.

The Austrian company “Junik Lajts”, which deals with the production of LED lighting, visited Prijedor and then continued on negotiations and it was agreed that the project in this city would begin after the realization of investments that have begun in Germany, and the possibility has been left open for fast adaptation of space in the case of need.

Representatives of the company “Sajnar” from Great Britain, which deals with the collection, recycling, and processing of all kinds of raw materials, visited potential sites in Prijedor for the realization of projects and information from London is expected.

The Agency “Preda-PD” explained that negotiations with potential investors is a long process, and it is considered a success if out of one hundred established contacts, there is one concrete investment result.

At the beginning of the week, the city government signed a contract with the Banja Luka company “Premium” on the sale of land in the industrial zone “Celpak”, where next week the construction of a facility for the production of solar panels should start. The signing of this agreement was preceded by a four-year preparation period.

It is envisaged that the development strategy for Prijedor would have five industrial zones.
