eko foodThrough the project “Environmentally friendly, the new organic approach to agriculture in the cross-border area between Serbia and Bosnia Herzegovina – ENO Agri”, funded by the European Commission, the Federation of associations of organic producers together with SERDA issued a public call for producers that are beginners in organic farming, to get certificates and to submit themselves to the certification process.

The analysis of the market and production in both countries has shown that there is a good level of production of honey, berry fruits, herbs, and fruits and vegetables.

However, since it was concluded that in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia there are no sufficient quantities of organic products and that there is high demand on both markets, president of the Federation of associations of organic producers Sejad Herceg said that a joint brand in the first stage will be released on domestic markets.

He concluded that the inclusion of new producers in organic production means an increase of people staying in the rural areas, the viability of rural areas and Eco zones, and thereby increase of production and employment in the organic sector.

The joint brand to the European Union market will be launched next year.
