New Cases of Coronavirus recorded in Sarajevo

According to the data of the Public Health Institute of Canton Sarajevo, 198 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in the Sarajevo Canton last day, after laboratory testing of 1,141 samples.

In the same period, 161 people recovered from covid-19 infection. Five patients, unfortunately, died as a result of this disease.

There are currently 169 patients in hospital, 157 of whom have an acute infection, while the rest are postcovid or under observation.

The share of vaccinated persons in the number of hospitalized is 7.69 percent. 101 patients are treated at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, and 68 at the General Hospital “Prim. Dr. Abdulah Nakas”.

There are seven people on the respirator, 13 patients use non-invasive ventilation, while 14 patients are on oxygen support breathing above 15 liters per minute. Today, Sarajevo Canton records 1,415 active cases of Covid-19 infection.

There are currently 2,502 people in self-isolation. Since the beginning of the pandemic in the Sarajevo Canton, a total of 62,072 people infected with the coronavirus and 59,213 cured have been registered.

“In the past seven days, the average number of infected is 146, while the weekly incidence, ie the number of patients per 100,000 inhabitants, is 243,” according to the Public Health Institute of CS.
