New Director of the General Hospital selected?

kravicA prominent surgeon, Prim. Dr. Zlatko Kravić, was appointed the new Director of the General Hospital “Prim. Dr. Abdulah Nakaš” yesterday. The decision was reached by the Steering Committee (UO) of the hospital after application procedure, and Kravić was evaluated as better candidate than Dr. Adnan Mušanović.

President of the UO Halid Ganija said that between the two candidates they proposed Dr. Kravić for the director position at the session that was held.

“The proposal was forwarded to the Ministry of Health of the Sarajevo Canton for consent, after which the appointment to a four-year term will be confirmed. The commission for selection, which implemented the procedure, proposed Prim. Dr. Zlatko Kravić for the director position and we accepted that proposal,” Ganija said.

Dr. Kravić said he is proud that he will be able to contribute a lot more to the further improvement of the work of this hospital.

“I have several ideas about what the hospital might do, but not at the expense of the Institute for Health Insurance, but the plan is to finally achieve that it generates and creates money, which is the purpose of this health,” said Kravić.

Dr. Kravić highlighted that the situation in health sector is very difficult and that the Ministry of Health of the Sarajevo Canton is currently working on reforms, and he is also included in the process.

“With a new plan of means distribution, which are substantial but unfortunately not well distributed, we are trying to make health service more available and closer to the users and to expand their rights, but also paying attention to the standard of health workers,” Dr. Kravić added.

Zlatko Kravić was born in 1957. He graduated in 1982 at the Faculty of Medicine in Sarajevo, after which the professional path leads him to Travnik, where he works in the local health center and hospital.

In early 1992, Kravić begins the professional engagement on the Trauma Clinic of the Clinical Center University of Sarajevo. Until 1996, he was engaged in the War Hospital Dobrinja and as the head of ambulance of the 5th motorized brigade of the Army of RBiH. He was also the head of the Ambulance-Veterinary Department of the deferral Ministry of Defense. By rank, he is a colonel in the ARBiH and a holder of the decoration “Silver Shield”.

During 2007, Kravić became the head of the surgical department General Hospital Ghadamis in Libya and since 2010 he has been working as a surgeon in the General Hospital. He attended a number of courses in military medicine and health management in BiH and abroad.

Kravić is a delegate of the Alliance for Better Future (SBB) in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH.
