Due to the increase in the number of newly infected in the Canton Sarajevo (CS), the CS Crisis Staff has adopted several new epidemiological measures, most notably is that vaccination is now mandatory for all persons over 60 years of age.

At the suggestion of the Crisis Staff of the Ministry of Health of the CS for monitoring and analysis of the situation caused by the coronavirus, the Government of the CS passed a conclusion yesterday on mandatory vaccination with the third so-called booster dose of vaccine against covid-19 for elderly people and caregivers in social institutions for the care of the elderly, as well as the population older than 60 years and persons with associated comorbidities in the CS.

Mandatory vaccination against covid-19 for a medical staff who comes into contact with patients in all CS health facilities has also been ordered. The management and crisis staffs of the institutions are responsible for the implementation of this order.

Also, it is recommended to all CS health institutions not to require PCR tests during outpatient examinations, except for risk groups-oncology patients and hemodialysis and immunosuppressive patients.

These measures come into force yesterday, and the control over their implementation will be performed by the Cantonal Directorate for Inspection Affairs and the Police Directorate of the Ministry of the Internal Affairs of the CS.
