The commercial price of coronavirus testing will be lower in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and will amount to 96 BAM, instead of the previous 140 BAM, Klix.ba news portal reports.

The Institute for Health Insurance and Reinsurance of Federation of BiH told Klix.ba that based on Article 104 of the Law on Health Insurance, at a session held on December 4, the Board of Directors of this institution passed a Decision on changing the tariff of health services in FBiH.

“The commercial price of testing on Covid-19 by PCR method is 96 BAM, and the price of serological testing is 36 BAM (excluding VAT). This Decision shall enter into force on the day of its adoption and shall apply from 7 December. Coronavirus testing costs are often problematic, and the public opinion has most often been that they are too high. Prior to this decision, PCR testing cost 140 BAM, and at the beginning of the pandemic, the price was 215.20 BAM. Tests that are performed on a daily basis on the basis of medical-epidemiological indications are not charged by patients, but are performed at the expense of the funds of the obligatory health insurance.
