gorivo (infoteka)In two separate initiatives of the Governing Board of the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH, the Government of RS and FBiH were looking for increase and the introduction of new excise taxes on petroleum products. The eventual adoption of the initiatives would bring the price higher by 8 pfenings per liter of fuel.

The RS government is seeking for an increase tolls for highway construction from the current 0.10 to 0.15 BAM. The Federal Government launched the initiative to introduce a new dedicated tax on petroleum products in the amount of 0.03 BAM per liter of oil, and the money from the new excise tax or fee would be used for the establishment of the mandatory ninety-day reserves of oil.

The timing of these initiatives is interesting due to the fact that the Governing Board of the Indirect Taxation Authority and the Council of Ministers are in technical mandate. The initiative of the Government of RS arrived the 09th February, while initiatives of FBiH are in the process and according to the Council of Ministers were released on 16th January.

“The new composition of the Governing Board of the Indirect Taxation Authority and the Council of Ministers of BiH will certainly discuss about these initiatives because the current composition of the technical mandate will certainly not make these decisions”, said the source close to the “Independent”.
