21052013The Prime Minister of BiH Nermin Nikšić and the Minister of Finance Ante Krajina, along with their colleagues, received today the World Bank Delegation at the FBiH government headquarters. The New Director for the country and the Regional Coordinator led the World Bank Delegation for Southeast Europe Ellen Goldstein and the Head of the Office of this financial institution to BiH Anabelle Abreu.

Goldstein spoke of the current situation in the country and in the region, especially in the FBiH, and in the light of Croatia’s upcoming accession to the EU and how that would impact BiH.

She spoke of the need to continue reforms in the economic sector, especially in the area of improving the business environment and the pension and invalid system.

She also spoke of the need to find ways to implement development programs with the support of the World Bank to small and medium sized businesses, which would lead to job creation.

It was concluded that this implementation has to accelerate and there are ways to achieve this, and both sides agreed.

Prime Minister Nikšić briefed his guests on the achievements of the reform process and the adoption of new legislation that would improve the business ambient and enable a simpler, faster and cheaper registration of a company, and create conditions for more foreign investment.

He said that changes in the region, such as the accession of Croatia to the EU, would reflect on BiH in large measure, and that they should move towards legal and other solutions that would comply with EU standards, announced the Press Office of the FBiH government.
