Niksic: It is not realistic that the Government would be formed without the SNSD and the HDZ

The government at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina should be formed with those who are in power in the entity of Republika Srpska, and that is why the SNSD and its partners, as the election winner in the RS, are indispensable in the constitution of the government at the level of BiH, said last night the president of the SDP BiH, Nermin Nikšić.

Nikšić said in his interview on RTRS’ Telering Show that it is not realistic that the government at the state level would be formed without the SNSD and the HDZ and that the Council of Ministers of BiH would not be able to do anything without those two parties either in the Republika Srpska or in the FBiH and the cooperation with entity authorities would be called into question.

He said that the goal is to strive for joint cooperation for the good of all citizens of both entities.

“The government in Republika Srpska will be led by the SNSD and there is no dilemma. Thus, Milorad Dodik is the president of Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković is the prime minister. So what do we do now? To form a government in the Federation of BiH that will be seen as hostile? Well, I’m not in favor of that, but I’m of the opinion that it’s better not to form a government in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina if we’re not going to work together,” said Nikšić.

He said that in the FBiH the coalition of the eight parties and the HDZ will have a majority to form the government, thus sending the SDA into the opposition.

After the agreement was signed with the HDZ, Nikšić announced the talks with partners from Republika Srpska with whom a similar agreement would be signed.

When it comes to the new FBiH prime minister, Nikšić says that at the level of their coalition, there is a determination for him to hold that position, Fena news agency reports.
