Inspectors of the Service for Foreigners Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while carrying out intensified operational activities aimed at controlling the movement and stay of foreigners in the Una-Sana Canton, determined that several migrant families have been staying in abandoned buildings at the site of Bosanska Bojna, near the border with Croatia.

Considering that the migrants illegally stayed in facilities where there were no minimum living conditions, the Service initiated and coordinated a number of activities on their relocation from the mentioned site, and accommodating them in temporary reception centers Borici and Sedra which are intended for families and vulnerable categories of migrants, said the Service for Foreigners Affairs.

On Saturday, in cooperation with the BiH Border Police and the International Organization for Migration (IOM),  the Service relocated nine migrant families with a total of 43 members, of whom 19 are children and placed them in the Temporary Reception Centers.

All migrants were taken care of and were provided with the necessary medical triage, placed in the isolation part of these centers in accordance with epidemiological measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
