The Deputy Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) and Federal Minister of Development, Entrepreneurship, and Crafts, Vojin Mijatovic, stated yesterday that, starting from January 1st of the coming year, no employer in the FBiH will be allowed to pay wages lower than 1.200 BAM.

Mijatovic noted that, following the adoption of the Law on Amendments to the Income Law of FBiH in Parliament, the Government will, at its next session, adopt a Regulation on mandatory monthly wages for employees in FBiH, which will enforce this requirement.

He added that estimates have shown that billions of BAM are lost on the black market in FBiH and that the implementation of the Law on Fiscalization of Financial Transactions in the FBiH in mid-2025 will mean the end for employers who do not issue fiscal receipts.

Furthermore, Mijatovic emphasized that this will lead to additional revenue for the FBiH, which should compensate for losses due to reduced contributions and create a reserve for the development component of the budget.

He explained that this FBiH Government is borrowing in line with the revenue side of this year’s budget framework and that the three-year borrowing plan they are currently following was adopted by the government led by Fadil Novalic.
