Residents of Republika Srpska (RS) who paid arrangements for holidays in Turkey will not get refund if they decide to cancel the trip due to the events in that country.
“Turkey has not declared a state of emergency, and BiH has not banned going there, so the sales of the arrangements are going normally, there is no refund,” said Sasa Kalinic from travel agency Sebastijan in Banja Luka.
This year, he says, Greece is a real hit instead of Turkey.
“Fortunately, we had no problem with canceling trips to Turkey so far. Several of our clients traveled on Sunday, a couple of them yesterday, which means that there are people who are not afraid,” said director of Zepter Passport, Milena Pavlovic, adding that there is much smaller number of tourists who are now willing to travel to Turkey than in previous years.
The same situation is in other travel agencies around the RS. There is no refund for arrangements, and they noted that there is very little interest for Turkey this year, and that only few people want to rest there, while in previous years it was one of the hit destinations. Among the most popular destinations this summer are Greece, Montenegro and Croatia.
Embassy of Turkey in BiH announced that tourists in Turkish resorts like Antalya, Mugla and Izmir were not exposed to any discomfort during the recent coup attempt in Turkey.
“Airports in Turkey, which were temporarily closed to traffic due to the recent events, are re-opened now and continue to operate,” as stated from the Office of Culture and Tourism of the Embassy of Turkey in BiH.
Reasons that are not considered as valid for cancellation of the trip are: local terrorist attack, explosion, infection, epidemics and other diseases, natural disasters, climatic conditions.
