As a part of the implementation of the Law on Animal Protection and Welfare in Sarajevo Canton, Novo Sarajevo municipality started the census of cats and dogs that have owners.
The project is done by Centre of Civil Protection in cooperation with Veterinary station of KS, Veterinary Faculty and Association for Animal Welfare ”Save the Animals Now” from Sarajevo.
The aim of the project is to get a list of all dogs and cats who have owners, and after that there the approximate number of abandoned and lost animals, especially stray dogs could be determined, said PR of Novo Sarajevo Municipality.
Project will be implemented in period February-April 2013, and owners of registered animals will be able to vaccinate and chip their animals free of charge.
