The delegation of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights at the OSCE (ODIHR), which visited the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina today, announced that this state institution conducted last year’s elections efficiently, transparently and within the framework of the law.
The aim of the visit was the presentation of the final ODIHR Report on the observation of the 2022 elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as a discussion of the findings and recommendations offered in this and previous ODINR final reports, and the identification of areas for further cooperation with concrete steps taken by various participants, and in order to harmonize the electoral legislation with the obligations of the OSCE.
“The CEC conducted the elections efficiently, transparently and within the legal deadlines, despite the delays caused by the late payment of the necessary funds and the critical lack of human resources,” the report stated, among other things.
They note that the CEC held regular sessions that were open to the public and were broadcast online, which contributed to transparency. Most of the decisions were made unanimously and were published on the Internet in a timely manner, the Report said.
