autoput_banjaluka_doboj13Official opening of the Section Doboj-Prnjavor of the motorway Banja Luka-Doboj will be held tomorrow, on September 11, at the loop Prnjavor, stated the Ministry of Transportation and Communications of Republika Srpska. Opening ceremony is scheduled at 10:30 am.

According to the Ministry, thanks to new 36.6 kilometers of motorway, whose construction was successfully completed this summer, the network of motorways in Republika Srpska will consist of more than 70 kilometers.

A commission executed technical control of the section and determined that all works are of high quality and executed in accordance with project and other technical documentation.

Preparatory works on the field began in late fall of 2012. Since the spring of 2013, intense works have been conducted regarding the construction of this motorway.

A large number of objects were built at the section from Prnjavor to Doboj – large and smaller bridges, overpasses, underpasses, and one artificial tunnel. Bridges across the rivers Bosna and Ukrina are among the largest objects.

Construction of the mentioned section was expected to be completed in the fall of 2015. However, due to extremely poor weather conditions and disastrous floods that marked almost the entire year 2014, the deadline was prolonged for several months.

The contractor at this section hired nearly 700 workers and around 20 producers, with their 230 workers. Therefore, it can be concluded that implementation of the project of construction of the motorway Banja Luka-Doboj, i.e. the section from Prnjavor to Doboj, ensured job for more than 900 workers.

Construction of the mentioned section was financed with a credit from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in the amount of 185 million EUR.
