eu_flag_rf123All media are invited to cover the Ceremony organised on the occasion of official putting into operation of the reconstructed and extended waste water treatment plant as well as newly constructed sewerage network in Ljubuški on Monday, 13 July 2015.

This important event is result of the excellent partnership and cooperation between EU, BiH, FBiH, Municipality Ljubuški and the World Bank and their efforts to improve water quality and contribute to cleaner environment in Ljubuški.

Thanks to this, the Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) was reconstructed and its capacity has been increased from 5000 to 6000 PE and preconditions for further extension to 12,000 PE have been also created. The total length of the newly constructed sewerage network is 15,2 km.

The EU funded construction of the new Sewerage System in Ljubuški in the amount of 2 million € from IPA 2010 which was administered by the World Bank. The reconstruction and extension of the Waste Water Treatment Plant in Ljubuški was financed by the Municipality Ljubuški, GEF grant funds and the Federation of BiH  Government in the total amount of approximately 1 million €. Both sub-projects were implemented under the project “Neretva and Trebišnjica Management“, supported by the World Bank.
