Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said that only ten of the 36 hospitals in Gaza are partially providing services, and that the health system is barely “surviving”.

Ghebreyesus shared information on the social media platform X about the health situation in Gaza, which is under intense Israeli attacks.

“Out of 36 hospitals in Gaza, only ten provide partial services,” Ghebreyesus emphasized.

He said that the health system is barely surviving.

Ghebreyesus said Amal Hospital, located in Khan Younis in southern Gaza and affiliated with the Palestinian Red Crescent, stopped providing services due to clashes in and around the facility on March 26.

Reiterating his call for an immediate end to attacks on hospitals in Gaza, Ghebreyesus stressed that medical staff, patients and civilians must be protected, AA writes.
