The 93rd Academy Awards, an award from the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, will be held tonight at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.

Among the nominees is the film “Quo Vadis, Aida?” of BH director Jasmila Zbanic.

The film, which focuses on the genocide in Srebrenica, was nominated in the category for best foreign-language film. Thomas Winterberg’s “Another Round”, Alexander Nanau’s “Collective”, Kaouther Ben Hani’s “The Man Who Sold His Skin” and Derek Tsang’s “Better Days” and “Quo Vadis, Aida?” Jasmila Žbanić.

The nominations were announced on March 15 via video call from London by singer and actor Nick Jonas and actress Priyanka Chopra.

The Oscar ceremony will take place in our local time on the night from Sunday to Monday. –

The entire film crew thanks the members of the Academy who voted for “Quo vadis Aida?”,

Mothers, women and other Srebrenica survivors who were our support, encouragement and inspiration, and many friends who gave us support. For us, this film is more than a film – it is a reminder that the genocide and this one in Srebrenica, as well as any other that happened in this area in the past – must not be denied and forgotten.

”This film was not made to divide and confront people, but on the contrary, to better understand each other,” said director Jasmila Zbanic after nominating the film for the most prestigious film award in the category for best foreign film.

The main roles in the film were played by Jasna Đuričić, Izudin Bajrović, Boris Isaković, Johan Heldenbergh, Raymond Thiry, Boris Ler, Dino Bajrović, Emir Hadžihafizbegović and Edita Malovčić.
