General Secretary of Our Party Nihad Uk is the party’s proposal for the new Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton, the Cantonal Committee of Our Party decided.
Regarding the reasons for proposing Uk, Edin Forto, president of Our Party, said that Our Party will never lightly appoint anyone to the positions for which it assumes responsibility.
Uk pointed out that a strong coalition based on the program is a guarantee of progress and that his ambition is to position Sarajevo as one of the cultural capitals of Europe in the coming period, to position Sarajevo Canton as an exporter of solutions for the whole of BiH, to ensure a dignified relationship with the most vulnerable, but also to intensify the most prominent infrastructure projects.
“A strategic approach to construction, solving the issue of illegal construction and improving the air quality in Sarajevo is especially important to me, a multi-decade problem that started to be solved too late,” said Nihad Uk.
Uk was born in 1989 in Sarajevo. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Sarajevo, and then received his master’s degree from the Department of Public International Law at the same faculty. Since 2017, he has been the general secretary of Our Party, and before that he worked in the real sector. From 2016 to 2022, he was a councilor of Our Party in the Centar Sarajevo Municipal Council, and at the same time he was delegated to the City Council of the City of Sarajevo.
In the General Elections of 2022, he was elected as a representative of Our Party in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly.
