Over 800,000 Tourists Arrivals recorded in BiH

In the period from January to October 2021, there were 808 268 tourists arrivals which represents the increase by 87.1 and 1 914 453 overnight stays which is an increase by 74.5% as compared to the same period of 2020.

Concerning the structure of foreign overnight stays, most of them (63.5%) wererealizedd by tourists from Serbia (15.7%), United Arab Emirates (13.0%), Croatia (9.5%), Saudi Arabia (8.4%), Germany (5.4%), Kuwait (4.1%), Turkey (3.8%) and Slovenia (3.5%). Tourists from other countries realised 36.5% of overnight stays.

Regarding the average stay of foreign tourist stays, on the first place comes Finland wian th average stay of 4.7 nights, Iran with 4.4 nights, Kuwait with 4.0 nights, Malta with 3.6 nights and China with 3.5 nights.

According to the type of accommodation facility, the highest number of nights was recorded in hotels and similar accommodation with a share of 92.8%.

In October 2021, there were 93 573 tourist arrivals in Bosnia and Hercegovina which represent a decrease by 10.1% as compared to September 2021 and an increase by 113.8% as compared to October 2020. There were 205 708 overnight stays, which represent a decrease by 13.2% as compared to September 2021 and increase by 98.8% as compared to October 2020. Domestic tourists share of total number of overnight stays was 42.0% and foreign tourists share was 58.0%.

Concerning the structure of overnight stays in October 2021, most of them (57,2%) were realized by tourists from Croatia (13.6%), Serbia (10.3%), Saudi Arabia (8.6%), Slovenia (6.5%), Turkey (6.4%), Germany (6.1%) and United Arab Emirates (5.7%). Tourists from other countries realized 42.8% of overnight stays.

Regarding the average stay of foreign tourists in our country on the first place comes China with an average stay by 4.1 nights, Cyprus 3.9 nights, Iceland with 3.8 nights, India with 3,7 nights and Finland and Kuwait by with 3.5 nights.

Available rooms, apartments and camping sites for tourists in Bosnia and Herzegovina in October 2021 amounted to 18 023 which is 19.1% increase compared to October 2020. The number of available beds was 39 072, which is increased by 20.3%, compared to the same month of 2020.

In October 2021, in the activity – Hotels and similar accommodation, number of rooms and apartments available to tourists amounted to 16 507, which is an increase of 19.3% compared to October 2020, and number of available beds amounted to 34 267 which is an increase of 20.6%, compared to the same month of the previous year.

Net occupancy rate of rooms was 23.0% and permanent beds it was 18.1% in October 2021, while in October 2020, net occupancy rate of rooms was 14.2% and of permanent beds 11.8%.
