Parents in BiH are confused by inaccurate Information about Immunization

The family day “Hello everyone”, which aims to inform everyone about the importance of immunization, to provide accurate and reliable information, but also to restore the confidence of some parents in vaccination, was held today in Tuzla in the organization of the Institute of Public Health TK, Infohouse Foundation and UNICEF.

A music and entertainment program was prepared for the youngest visitors, in which children had the opportunity to learn about health and nutrition, while parents had the opportunity to consult with health workers and professional staff about vaccinations, healthy nutrition and early growth and development of children.

“In the last 60 years, vaccines have saved more children’s lives than any other medical intervention. Immunized children have a better chance at a healthier life and are more likely to reach their full potential. Parents are confused by the various incorrect information that is presented to them and they are looking for answers to their questions in every possible way in order to facilitate their decision,” said the representative of UNICEF in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Veronika Vashchenko.

This event was also attended by health experts who were available to parents for all their questions and advice, along with accurate and reliable information about immunization.

General immunization and collective immunity is crucial in the fight against infectious disease agents that pose a threat around the world.

Collective immunity protects the most vulnerable population, the endangered category of the population.

In this way, UNICEF BiH will continue to work on strengthening the health system for providing services to parents and children, and the representatives of the Public Health Institute of Tuzla Canton have once again called on parents to trust the health system, the organizers announced.
